Whitehall
Sees Its $100 Million Order Erased
Dallas, Texas based Whitehall came out of the blue two months
ago to announce it had received an order worth up to $100
million for US Air Force C-130 Hercules aircraft maintenance,
only to see the order cancelled last week.
According to a statement from Whitehall, the Air Force had
reevaluated its requirements and decided instead to perform the
maintenance at an Air Force facility. The company's Aero Corp.
unit will be compensated for all incurred costs relevant to the
5-year contract.
Whitehall, which earned about $70 million in revenues last
year, recently agreed to acquire a Macon, Georgia maintenance
operation with annual revenues of about $20 million. Whitehall
stated that it intends to make up for the lost Air Force
contract through additional commercial maintenance deals.
