Rolls-Royce $750 Million Good News
Farnborough, September 4 -- Yesterday's announcements from Embraer and International Aero Engines was reason for celebration at the Rolls-Royce Farnborough chalet. The company will gain about $750 million from the two deals.
While Embraer would not disclose the value of the entire Continental Express contract for EMB-145s, Rolls-Royce announced that its Allison Engine Company's AE3007 powerplants will generate over $650 million revenues from the order. The EMB-145 signing was for 25 firm aircraft with options for 175 more.
Allison's AE 3007, rated at 7600 lbs. thrust, will be on every aircraft in the order. An Allison spokesman indicated that the company is very confident the entire order will be exercised.
At the same time, Rolls figures its part of the $290 Million V2500 engine announcement yesterday is worth nearly $100 million. The British jet engine manufacturer is one of four partners in International Aero Engines, along with Pratt & Whitney, Japanese Aero Engines and Daimler-Benz Aerospace.
