Gulfstream and Bombardier Square Off

Farnborough, September 4 -- Gulfstream vice chairman and president Bryan Moss says his GV orderbook is good and suggests Bombardier Global Express' is not.

In a scene reminiscent of Point-Counterpoint, aviation's equivalent of Shana and Jim politely called each other names. Gulfstream said it has firm orders for 68 Gulfstream V aircraft and letters of intent for three. Moss, who previously worked for Bombardier, says the Canadian company's suggestions of 53 orders for the Global Express is probably not correct. He believes Gulfstream has a two-to-one ratio in orders.

John Lawson, president of the Canadair Division of Bombardier said, "We're indifferent to what Gulfstream's doing. I think this displays Gulfstream's nervousness about what's going on in the aerospace industry."

Excellent point, Shana, you blankety-blank blank blank.
